- If the system finds an error before the screen display turns on, the
- screen will remain blank and the system halts. After the screen display
- turns on, the screen changes colour and the system halts if an error
- occurs. The screen colour helps you to identify the type of system
- problem. The screen colours should be interpreted as follows:
-
- TEST STATUS COLOUR DESCRIPTION
-
- Begin test Black Opening screen
- DarkGrey Initial hardware configuration tests passed
- LightGrey Initial system software tests passed (ROM)
- White Final initialisation test passed (RAM)
- Failed test Red ROM error, reseat or replace Kickstart ROMs
- Green CHIP RAM error
- Blue Custom Chip(s) error
- Yellow 68000 detected error before software trapped it
- (software or hardware error)
